Intense dark color with violet reflections. Very intense on the nose, lots of cassis and herbal spices at the beginning, then lots of plums and blackberries and some tobacco. Ripe tannins paired with fruity, spicy notes and a long, precise structure. Lots of herbal spice, freshness, and fruit in the aftertaste, sticks for an extremely long time.

The grapes for Merlot Distelwiese were harvested and sorted by hand at the beginning of October. Arrived at the winery, the grapes were gently destemmed and transported by gravity. Fermented in open tanks in small batches and then left on the mash to gain structure and depth. Biological acid degradation and storage in small French oak barrels in the vaulted cellar for 2 years. Bottled at the beginning of March, it is now ready to be enjoyed.
