Mendoza is by far the biggest and most important region in Argentina. Classically hailing from the Cahors vineyards to the east of Bordeaux, Argentina is now arguably the home of Malbec. This Malbec oozes dried raisiny fruit character, lots of blackberries, a full body and ripe sweet tannins. Simply perfect with roast meats. Ready to drink now and over the next 2-5 years.
This wine is nicely balanced, smooth, and gives just a little more flavor complexity than the basic red blend. None of the unbalanced alcohol, metallic Taste, or lack of acidity that you so often run into at this price. The Nose is medium carrying dark fruits and some light spices. The palate is a tab thin, but provides subtle dark fruits, sweet tobacco, and black pepper. It Finishes longer than average and leaves you wanting more.
