The Chenin Blanc is grown on the Tygerberg Hills, only 15km from the cold Atlantic ocean. The vineyard was planted in 1984. The wine shows aromas of citrus, lime, peach and honeydew. The palette is complex with ripe fruit and a fresh lime finish. Pale gold with a lemon rind rim. Fresh aromas of white peach, citrus, quince and honey blossom. The palate offers generous fresh fruit and lively acidity on the finish.
Seaward grapes are selected from South Africa’s top coastal areas, growing in a narrow band close to the cold Atlantic ocean and the temperate waters of False Bay. Such terroir provides what you might call a perfect storm – with barely any human intervention needed to produce outstanding harvests for our winemakers, every year.
